Real food. Real Power.

In 2025, Neighbors of KAUSE identified a $50,000 state grant opportunity in Maryland aimed at strengthening food access, health education, and community well-being. Recognizing the alignment, NOK notified The Collaborative, a qualified nonprofit, and helped build a strong partnership to pursue the funding. NOK matched the organization with a host of mission-aligned partners — including a primary care doctor to provide health expertise, The People’s Market to expand local food access, and a local tech startup, HomeCook, to integrate digital tools for outreach and sustainability. Together, this coalition successfully secured the grant, which will fund initiatives to connect families with nutritious foods, promote preventive health, and leverage technology for broader community impact. This effort highlights how shared resources and diverse expertise can make state-level opportunities more accessible and achievable for community organizations.
